My experience in the industry has been described as “unusual.” I graduated with a part-psychology, part-computer science degree and landed at a very fast paced company that taught me mobile development, client management, and process creation/adaption. From there, I moved to another company to focus on development but ended up moving heavily into utilizing my development expertise in non-traditional ways to provide higher levels of impact by helping organize the business and harden requirements, while still lending my skills to technology as has been necessary. Due to this, I am uniquely equipped as a technical product manager to overcome challenges that I have seen trip up others in a similar capacity.
At my core, I am a person who likes to win, and I will exit my comfort zone quickly to do so if I believe it increases the team’s chances of winning, which is the basis for my varied history. I don’t consider myself above or below any role, and I am purely objective when implementing strategies and tactics to accomplish the goal. I have also unofficially spent my time filling whatever needs have been laid out in front of me, which has stretched from managing developers to helping identify hardware needs to manipulating databases in production.
When I’m not at work, I like to bounce between social gatherings and quiet nights at home. My biggest hobby is board games and the like: huge fan of the “puzzle plus social engagement” aspect of them. I’m part of the binge-content-as-fast-as-possible bandwagon. I play video games, though much less than I used to. I’ve got two beagles, Macy and Cooper, that are ridiculously sweet.
